St. Valentine - what a jerk!
This holiday, along with most other holidays, represents an ideal that is rarely even remembered by most Americans. I think it's even safe to say that many parents these days neglect to educate their children with the actual truth behind these holidays. It all becomes materialistic (as many non-conformists might say) and is now monopolized by major corporations solely to make money. Does anyone really know who Saint Valentine was?Saint Valentine, according to romantic legend, was a kind-hearted Roman priest who married young couples against the wishes of Emperor Claudius II, and was beheaded for his deeds on the 14th of February.
Maybe I'm just being a little hostile because I don't have a date for Valentine's Day. Maybe I'm just a little pissed off that everyone gets so damned hyped up about this day, that its importance gets blown out of proportion, and people like me feel like shit. Oh... how I truly hate martyrs.

how howard opted pink kites in neon skies
how howard opted pink kites in neon skiesWho is this allusive Howard? Is he a man? Maybe he's a dog? And why is Howard so obsessed with pink kites in neon skies? Why did he opt these kites in the sky? Did he have a choice? And if so, what were the other options? Why are the skies neon, and why on earth are the kites pink? Couldn't they have been blue or yellow? Or red?
Now, you may think that these questions are completely stupid. Perhaps even pointless. What could caring about any of these things really matter?
-Perhaps nothing. But honestly ask yourself, are they really any more absurd than the questions we continuously ask of our own lives and of the world?
